A Perfect Palette: Red, Blue & Brown
As it’s very nearly February I thought I’d showcase my kind of Valentine’s colour palette
I’ve never been a particularly slushy, romantic girl and it can be tricky to find a Valentine’s colour scheme that doesn’t feel a bit too sweet and twee for me – all those pastel colours and sentimentality (am I becoming a grumpy old women before my time I wonder?!) However, the addition of a cooling blue and grounding brown to this palette give the pinky red a some robustness and butch it up a bit. And not a heart in sight.
Let’s take a closer look at the colours here, the red is #ea1947 (Pantone 1788c) a pretty pinky red, although the scheme would work equally well with a more orange, almost coral, red. The blue is a very turquoisey #32b3ae (Pantone 7465) which cools off the two warmer colours and gives the scheme a breath of fresh air! The rich, earthy brown is #5a2c04 (Pantone 732c) and this really pulls the palette together, adding some masculinity and warmth. Like a the colour version of a bear hug!
