Continuing my Month In The Life series this September is artist and animator Monika Forsberg.
Originally from northern Sweden, the land of the midnight sun, Monika moved to London in 1995 to study at Camberwell School of Art and the Royal College of Art. Her work ranges from animation to illustration and surface pattern design and she has an impressive client list including C4 and Nickelodeon UK. One of her animated films was nominated for a BAFTA, she won a leg of ham at a festival in Spain and got invited to Harvey Weinstein’s for tea! Plus she is a classmate of mine from Lilla Roger’s Make Art That Sells Course!

Over to you Monika, tell us how September went for you:
September was a month mostly spent in the sandpit with my youngest son! His dad had a busy month working and the eldest son went back to school after a beautiful summer holiday.
Day 1: We collected leaves as we left the playground my son and I, walking down Savernake road.
Day 3: Another day in the playground, followed by an afternoon in the forest, collecting leaves, branches and pretending we were a road sweeping truck.
Day 8: Sports day on the Heath. As me and my sons were walking along by this bouncy castle I was accosted by some people wondering if I’d like to join a softball team. I said yes.
Day 9: A cold, early swim in the lido on the Heath. When I got home this was the breakfast waiting for me.
Day 11: I was scanning a load of drawings and my youngest son found my grey eyeshadow and had a ball. I didn’t mind.
Day 14: Finally had a day at home alone working. Well the cat was snoring in my lap, so not quite all alone.
Day 17: Collecting greens on the Heath with my youngest son.
Day 20: I decided to add a new section to my website (sport) and whilst watching Walking Dead I drew footballers.
Day 27: A day out in London. We took the train to Tate modern, walked along the Southbank, took a boat to Embankment, walked to Westminster and took the tube to Swiss Cottage where we watched some people swimming whilst eating our lunch.
