Shoot for the Moon

You’d be forgiven for thinking these were paintings by a new abstract artist but, in fact, these fantastically colourful images are actually of the moon!

Clever science people have colour coded the surface according to it’s reflective properties, highlighting different materials, textures and terrain. The maps also show in great detail the huge amount of meteor damage the poor moon is subject to. I think they are amazing images, combining colour and maps is always a good thing in my book – I could look at them forever and still notice new things in them. Maybe NASA should create a range of prints? I know I’d have one (at least) on my wall!
