The Unison’s Activist Magazine team asked me to create three illustrations for an issue that focused on The Employment Rights Bill. They had quite a clear idea of what the illustrations needed to show, and the key was finding a layout that would hold all the scenes they wanted to include. Ultimately, we settled on a ‘graphic novel’ style with panels showing each scene. I had a lot of fun creating all the details – especially drawing a parliamentary debate!
The characters along the top of the main illustration were re-used for the cover, creating a dynamic, optimistic composition that layered over the masthead.
